Broadway Farm, Down Ampney, Nr Cirencester
Broadway Farm, Down Ampney comprised a redundant farmstead on an 8.7 acre site. Residential planning consent was originally secured for 22 dwellings on the main farmstead and offers were received for the consented site. At the same time, Cotswold District Council acknowledged that they did not satisfy the statutory NPPF 5 year housing land supply requirement. This provided an opportunity to incorporate an additional 2.2 acres of redundant grassland into a revised scheme of 44 dwellings. This application was refused at first instance but allowed on appeal subject to the provision of 50% on-site affordable housing. The site was subsequently re-marketed and sold for £3.901m.
